Age of Empires III
I mentioned yesterday having gamed a bit over the weekend and one of the board games in the offing was Age of Empires III. I had a great time and managed to come in second out of six, though it was a distant second indeed with 94 victory points to 119 for the winner. Read more about this fun game here!

Casualty Miniatures
Someone on Facebook was recently in search of some miniatures that represented dead figures. A while ago, a local friend and I split a pack of Old Glory figures called "The Slain Casualty Pack" which were planned to use a markers for a wargame though we switched gears before implementing that solution. In any event, quite useful as dungeon dressing or to denote wargame units that have been injured or depleted. See more here!

Crappy Birthday Card Game
Some time back, my friend Natalie brought a humorous card game to our regular game night called Crappy Birthday which we had some fun playing. The description from BoardGameGeek.com is as follows:
Crappy Birthday is designed to be taken as a gift to a party instead of a bottle of wine or a 6-pack of beer. The goal of Crappy Birthday is to get people talking, laughing, and having a good time as quickly as possible. Don't be surprised if some people dislike the same gift that other people at the table love, because the gifts were designed to start fun and interesting conversations. Crappy Birthday is simple enough that a group of non-gamers can read the rules and start playing within a few minutes. Or if people do not want to play at the party, they can have fun by simply looking at the cards and laughing at the pictures and funny concepts.Read and see more here!
